Tourists from most countries in Europe, North America (all of it, north and south of The Wall), most of Central and South America, Australia and northern Asia (including Russia, S. Korea & Japan) do not require a visa to enter Israel for a period of up to 90 days. Citizens of Arab countries, Turkey, most of Africa and Southern Asia (including China & India), and some countries in Central and South America, as well as Bosnia & Herzegovina, should seek to obtain a visa.
See here for country lists, here for an unofficial, graphic display, and here for more information.
If you are worried about stamps in your passport either when entering (no worries, see here for example) or when then trying to enter other countries (easy fix, see here, or here) - then you need not be.
